Stainless Steel Sinks

A popular choice that lasts a long time. There is a wide variety of stainless steel sinks, from those at the cheaper, contract end (those that have a drainer like a spring board) to the designer end that look good as well as being functional.

Stainless steel sinks are made in a variety of ways. The original way is to make a sink from a single piece of stainless steel which is stretched into shape by a heavy mechanical press. As this process is quick the sinks produced are the cheapest of all the stainless steel sinks. They will last along time but may bend under weight, such as a heavy tap or the weight of dishes placed on the draining board.

Another way of making stainless steel sinks is in separate parts. The draining board/frame and sink bowls are pressed separately and then welded together. This allows deeper bowls to be produced and sinks which do not bend so easily under pressure. Further enhancements are also made, including the addition of beams to add strength to the sink, pads underneath the bowls to help retain heat and there are several other things which can't be seen but all add up to produce a better sink.
